In partial modification to this Ministry's Notice of even number dated 04.08.2025, in addition to Nepal and Bhutan the advance registration period to apply for registration on the Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS) portal for import of all steel products from Sri Lanka would be as under:"Not earlier than 60th day and not later than 2nd day before the expected date of arrival of import consignment List of 202 numbers of BIS licences, which have been exempted in the SIMS portal from the mandatory adherence requirement of input steel for the final products supplied by Integrated Steel Plants (ISPs) in pursuance of earlier order dated 11.07.2025. The Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS) shall require importers to apply for registration not earlier than 60th day and not later than 7th day before the expected date of arrival of import consignment. The Automatic Registration Number thus generated shall remain valid for a period of 75 days.This will be effective from 20th June 2025.
